Electrodynamics Final Exam (Physics 541) 12th Floor Webster (Band Conference Room) Grad Class Pictures
When chemists from UI are forced to give their order in Spanish... It's not a pretty site! We see from the second picture that final grades were also recently finalized in the Chemistry Department for various undergraduate laboratories at UI. Finalizing Grades at Wazzu
In celebration of the completion of the first year of course work, we felt that the distinguished Paul Hoffman needed to be properly honored!
Physics Picnic At The Snake
Next on the agenda of the Graduate Elite was a trip to the Snake River for the Physics Year End Picnic. Here we have the Undergraduate Laboratory Director ("The Brains Behind This Operation") working the grill. Observe the ordered arrangement of hamburgers and dogs, most excellent!
The tree climbing adventures continue... (New Primates?)
Both Grads and Undergrads alike enjoying the picnic festivities...
BBQ At Paul & Tarah's Home The Adventures ContinueBBQ I / B-Day / BBQ II
Tarah supervises the completion of the picnic table. How many physicists does it take to build a picnic table?? :) Dudley and Paul did an excellent job! A reflection (more information than you wanted to know): Paul & Power Tools (The assembly-line construction of picnic furniture will be implemented in future physics 101 undergraduate labs)
The ceremonious lighting of the grill is overseen by Fusion Energy Expert, Mike. (Note: Paul is an expert in Plasma Physics!!!) The second exposure details the crazy Spaniard in the background beginning his break-dancing routine. (Spurred on by the neighborhood music!) "Live Long And Prosper..." Almost.
Xavier, "the crazy Spaniard", comments on the chilly weather and its harmful effects on citrus fruit growth. Curtis may have forgotten his limo but he didn't forget the Grey Poupon!
Paul makes quite a mess as he has problems getting the food into his mouth. Curtis assists... Paul accepts... "Open wide..." Paul and Curtis have a very special relationship!
As the temperature drops below the safe levels for an orange orchard, Xavier makes his way indoors! Paul examines the various coffee brewing apparatus... "yes, the red light is on" (Note: Paul is skilled in the use of high tech lasing systems.) Erin takes time from her studies of Ultra Fast Dynamics to hang out at the BBQ. Erin is an expert in the vibrational modes of quasi-one dimensional metal halide complex chains.
